valencia

valencia

orange spiced

and everything nice

her name was powerful and strong

along with the other girls

valencia

you wear it out

like your favorite blue jeans

as we sit on park benches

with matching milk mustaches

how marvelous do you think it would be

if we could run away from here

the silence breaks like glass

quite marvelous

she nervously replies

girls like valencia

don't get nervous over those types of comments

or they're not supposed to

being strong willed and stubborn

isn't the best mix

in towns were there were boys like this

trying to persuade you

into things you didn't want to do

as if your decisions didn't matter

are you listening

his almond eyes filled with artificial concern

why was she still there?

who knew

because she didn't

his lips curl into a frown

the common annoyed look begins to become evident

even though you should be annoyed

by his restless attempts to get you to leave

valencia

the tears that streak her cheeks

were like paint strokes on a canvas

she no longer knows

whether to be sad or happy

he was like an oncoming catastrophe

that was too fast to move from

swopping everything

why was she so naive

to a notorious human being
