Valentine
The first time we locked eyes I quickly looked away
But still you were there again, day after day
On the inside my mind was whirring, but I was calm on the surface
I was quiet and was nervous, but you were quick to be of service
Always talking to me whenever I felt so down
You would comfort me whenever no one else was around
I was curious, why would someone like you talk to me?
No one could be interested in shy me who likes to read
Then the 14th of February came, but I knew it wouldn't be the same
I've been waiting for this day, I have never felt this way
And there you were holding white orchids of love
Singing Bruno Mars with a voice from above
You wanted us to take a chance, to see where it would it lead
And now us together is no longer a want, it's a need
You promised you'd be there for me, the shoulder for my tears
With your words and your touch you vanish all my fears
You would chase away the sadness and the darkness and the madness
You showed me the light when I was shrouded in blackness
And then my world saw color, hope, and happiness
But to follow my dreams, I had to leave, and we grieved
In order for us to work, we both must believe
Even through this distance, we've become stronger
Absence truly does make the heart grow fonder
This time apart is a struggle, but we will make it through
This is only possible because our love is true
I still have you and I'm grateful, there's not a night that I don't stare
At the moon and the stars and I feel that you're there
You complete me, and completely it's fate that we're together
Every time I think of you, it feels like Valentine's forever
I will always be yours, just like you'll always be mine
Every single day of my life you're my valentine
