"validation"

i wonder if anyone is realizing by now

how damaged and corrupt the world of creators has become.

many of us are suffering

but the ones suffering the most

are those who have written novels

and created entire worlds

that will never see the light of day, only their creators' minds.

these stories fit perfectly with their creators whos struggles also float around, alone.

maybe our struggles were not good enough

not captivating, not relatable enough for society to bat a single lash.

no wonder we feel so alone.

i understand that attention does not equal genuine happiness

but attention feels like validation and that is all we've ever wanted.

to feel validated.

and once we come to realize our own attempts to validate ourselves are unsuccessful,

we turn to the rest of the world for assistance.

not our world.

the world.

the world that feels so incredibly forgein from ours.

and though we've gotten used to that unsettling realization

we continue to sink far into this murky, lonely shade of grey

and wonder if it will always be this way.
