In this valley of tears

That when the night is far spent and fading away

Dawn approaches with morning's light

I call to Thee my Lord

Far from beneath your cross

In this valley of tears

            O' when can I behold Thee;...and surely believe that it is You

            Now that I seek the truth

            What would you have me do?

             Here in this valley of tears

Guide my steps along the everlasting way

and teach me how to pray

That I may praise and thank you

Show me the way of love that is true

That I may love all...all peoples

                In this valley of tears

               And yet to love you one more day

               The source of all life and fount of love...
