Vampires

Drinking deep the water wine Mixing cobblestone and grime Feed the babes and soak the wounds Maybe we’ll be drowning soon. Aching for the riverbed Where there will be no need for bread In the bloody river sands Washing feet and staining hands Sweet sedative of burning skin Calm our gaping wounds within. Cauterize these catalysts Fill these starving masochists. We have resigned to failure now we murmur all together now drinking deep the water wine it will comfort us in time.
