Vanity

I am vain. I spend my time listlessly staring at the mirror I stare into my eyes, searching for the soul, the spark, I know is lurking somewhere within the depths of my pupils, hiding behind iris of my eyes. I stare at my nose, watching as each exhalation produces small little water droplets on the mirror, clinging on for their dear life. I stare at my mouth, slightly parted, as if it were poised to say a word, still filled with words yet unspoken. My eyes journey down the round knob of my shoulder, pass the sparse hair sprinkled on my arms, maneuver around the various bumps and curves, and rest on my body, a blank canvas, marked with veins flowing with life. Countess opportunities wait to be etched upon it, to make its mark on my life. I stare at my body. I am vain.
