vanity and ivory

as it is with the good man who listens so it is with the sinner who's stealing all the ones who prayed for direction and the ones with no name as it is with the judge and the gavel the fallen men in the blood and the rubble the old church in the bar down the ally they're all searching for signs but in the end we all are forgotten all the saints with the men at the bottom all the girls who dreamed of a family and men with wandering eyes but be you a man or a coward one making a stand or excuses remember the dream you believed in and the love that you made remember the brave go before you only swing for the fence if you have to if no one is left to console you and the bride has rushed away
