Vastly Similar

Ice is to water as fire to ashes

Air to the living as sickness, the passing

Crackling sounds as nostalgic as splashing

A life's much like wind, come and go everlasting

Air to the living as sickness, the passing

The roots of an Oak like the ones lived before us

A life’s much like wind, come and go everlasting

We grow with their knowledge our minds swell euphorous

The roots of an Oak like the ones lived before us

In death, so in life, wood and stone each time store us

We grow with their knowledge, our minds swell euphorous

Till life takes its toll, just as rock becomes porous

In death, so in life, wood and stone each time store us

Yet knowledge goes on as the name of a man

Till life takes its toll, just as rock becomes porous

The life that we want seldom goes as we planned
