Veil of Tears

Those long nights

You believed would never end,

Filled with tears and fright

That push you from the mend,

Will one day join together

By the hand of God on high,

And become a feather,

Allowing you to soar and fly,

Saying:

"Back then I thought me loss,

Tossing and fraying

Apart like moss.

But then You came

Like a lover's mail,

And wiped away the stains,

Making my tears an aweing veil

So beautiful and so divine,

I nearly couldn't believe that You were mine.
