Velvet Wings
Friend,
This sounds crazy,
that I know is true.
But I had a dream last might,
and I just had to tell you.
I dreamed I was with you again.
I in a green dress; you in white.
You were the same as before, same eyes, same hair,
yet something was different,
something was not right.
I could see you as clear as day,
a loving tender smile on your face.
Your hand clasping mine,
and we walk for miles, going at a steady pace.
I then noticed what was so different,Friend,
You don't know what heartache this brings.
It means your death was a reality,
on you back, white velvet wings.
