Velvety Seduction

You speak as if you were in command,

Of an armed and terrified land.

You say, “Men!  We fight!”

And their hearts excite,

To the sound of the beating drum.

Your voice is also sometimes rich,

It sings at a low and glorious pitch,

Like the bowing of a double bass,

It transports me through time and space,

I cannot resist the velvety seduction.
