Venetian Experience

The crinkle of the paper over the seat Is the next step. Don’t expect to speak of your dreams, Or inner issues with mommy when you lay back. Look into the light to get any last reservations out of your system. Just think of Venice. Imagine going. The curved gondola sparkles in the light, As it settles in the water. The hooked craft scrapes towards the canal, As it finally penetrates. A pinch only more like… Something is moving in the water. Frothing in its wake, An appearance of scissors. Struggling to help the wedged gondola A tug now. The vessel is clamped And once more moving against the narrowness. The ride is painful. Even as the bottom is rhythmically dragged, Causing a sensual friction. The pathway is quickly emptied with a crunch and a squelch. The passengers have de-boarded and Once again the waterway calms with the tides. Hide away your battle scar and make sure Your sea sickness settles back to a calm control. Take good care to heal. That throbbing will fade, But not the other that has you already struggling Trying not to withdraw with the drain Always remember Venice. As any feeling is rushed forward To try and fill that now empty haven.
