The Venom Suit

You cling to me like a weight, heavy, dark, consuming. Once you take over I feel its too late, to do anything other than hate... The world around me darkens in this venom suit. I try to take you off, but you've fed off me for so long that it is hard to not confuse you as a part of me. Like the venom suit you darken me. My perceptions of a world once so alive and the feeling of a heart once open are now ash. Like the venom suit you are, I know once I take you off it'll leave a scar. You've attatched to my skin, so I know it will hurt. This is the choice I make, now it's my turn. This poem; a hidden therapy session, as I learn to battle you...Depression.
