Venom Within

Silent yet too powerful to overcome
We can only feel it when it’s too late
Something we can’t cure, it can hurt anyone
The victim’s pains will only escalate

Spills as venom, throughout every barrier 
It wakens, swift an cunning as a snake
For generations the hereditary carrier
Will fear to be a target that can’t escape

Families are soon left behind in agony
Trying to move on from the slow dark days
It’s difficult with all the memories
Still lying deep in their hearts, they start to weep

For as long as cancer hits severely 
It will continue to be our enemy
