Venomous Love
Her body coils around me; comforting in the shadows of the dark
Soft touch soothes me with what feels like tender love
Held in arms of trust with scent of home
She leaves me in clouds of warmth
In a slumber of trust, I feel her smooth scaly hands caress along mine,
She looks me into me, she sees how much i need her aprrovle and love
Instead she spits acidic venom
Oozing, burning, blistering, I cry in confusion
She tells me she does it in the name of love
In a blink of an eye she is forgiven
Mom? Do you love me?
