Venus Bluez by: Jaay Dee Kayy

I see that yellow dot in the sky and it always reminds me of you,

I wish a trip up states could take away all of Venus’ Blues,

Smokin’ MJ on a train talking bout (tammat) esoteric things,

Who would’ve thought I’d find my sister at that hellhole of a school ?

Born into a family of gods and the goddess helps lead the charge,

Locked the power of the cosmos in their heads like it broke the law,

She does her best to shed her ego like a snake  sheds its coat,

That’s why even though i’m the Capricorn, she still remains the Goat;

On a real spiritual journey so i’m unlearning all my past,

So I can teach myself and reinvent the woman that I AM,

Venus Blues helped to show me that though times might feel cruel, it’s a tool to help us grow and shift into the best version of YOU,

Cause the thorns might scratch your skin, but you’ll get there (get there)

And love is gonna always win, so you can’t care, (i don’t care)

Bout the opportunities you pass up, i know it may seem like bad luck,

but i’d rather help free your mind than help free you from worldly snares,

So when I see that yellow dot in the sky it reminds me of you,

I wish a trip upstate could take away all of Venus’ Blues,

I thank whatever created Me for whatever created You,

Because really, who would’ve thought I’d find a sister in a goddess at my school ?

Since the age of 13, I have had undying passion for music, poetry, and all forms of writing. At 22, I reflect and build from these times. I hope you can take the time to dive into my psyche. It's a wild ride, I promise.
