Venus..fell apart
Enchanting in her evening sheath,
radiantly the Princess swayed
to usher in a charming Prince
but concealed the vanity blade
radiantly the Princess swayed
to usher in a charming Prince
but concealed the vanity blade
She nimbly led him to a mirror
sans hint of an impending storm
where glass reflected her sparkle
to take an alluring form
Riviere, on the lovely neck
and bewitching eyes in khol
had carved beautifully a silhouette
but garroted a modest soul
Her dazzling image was tempting
towards this, did the Royalty glance
Admiration slowly turned to gaze
finally, into an enchanted trance
She beckoned him very gently
into a world of mirrors so quaint
that this modestly virtuous Prince
failed to notice her evil feint
Drawn like a ship, from its moorings
to abyssal waters of pride
within dungeons of deep conceit
where humility had long died
His charms, she did covet
not as love in a genuine chart
but adulation, she did command
for Hubris veiled her heart
Enslaved by her own splendor
at true love did she snide
to Cupid thence, did Prince pray
to disrobe her haughty pride
The arrow cracked the mirror
and behold! Venus got a shove
when Arête turned the wine
into a divine nectar of love
