A wonderful time among boys,

A beautiful summer day to behold,

Filling the streets with much noise,

The stress of school reduced tenfold.

A great friend through my life,

He decided it was to time to leave,

Only he wouldn't exit alive,

Witnessing his murder, I was left to grieve.

Killed as a symbol by a gang-related family,

He was labelled a victim of his own crime,

Yet he was just a boy fighting for relief and sanity,

In a cold world full of incessant grime.

He fell before my eyes and I felt the crash of reality

In this neighborhood, the crime is trying to flee.
