Verse My Heart

My prose becoming painful,

poetry yet a joy

Explaining has deterred me,

rhyme a favorite toy

Sentences locked and muted,

as couplets run and play

New paragraphs unwritten

—as verse my heart does pray

Strong sentiment, smooth rhyme and good word choice. The last line, does sound a bit antiquated though. The sentence structure being reversed in order to stick to the rhyme scheme... how about ( "as verse my heart prays" or, "for verse my heart prays?")
