Like clockwork
The trains run on hallowed rails.
The shriek of steel on steel
Hides the echoes of an oil-stained generation.
A lone tree leans towards the tracks,
Its hanging leaves motionless in the still air.
The trains pass, and the branches sway.
The fragile green figure is filled with the slightest breeze.
Yes, the trains pass, and sweetness follows.
