Veteran

i've already been where you're going

and I had forgotten about that place

until you came into my life

and I saw your sunkissed face

I want to tell you slow down

but I don't want to seem tame

so I listen to your stories

and watch the expressions on your face

you make me want to go back

but then I remember how far i've come

the past is the past

and the future is yet to come undone
