Vexation
This burden weighs upon me
overwhelmingly, overbearing...
A leech sucking the life from me
until it's too hard to breathe.
Solitude I crave.
Solace is not a treasure.
My own thoughts consume me
tearing morsels from within.
Gasping for air I struggle.
Life versus death.
If this is life,
is it really worth living?
The parasite quaffs on.
My soul slowly leaks.
Tears cascade down my face
as I give up the fight.
Exhausted, exposed,
excruciatingly pained,
torn down and trampled
...
This is me.
