Victim within

People’s mental destruction

 Society’s heart and soul’s corruption

What is the name of this devastation?

Alleviation from self-victimization

When was it ok to cry in the rain, letting our confidence flow down the drain?

In the face of life, laying down our weapons, giving up on the strife?

From foul words, our emotions allowed to react like startled birds?

What about the exception of failing to meet our personal expectation?

Wallowing in self-pity

Life as if in the slum of a city

So many things in life to see and do, and yet so many fade to a color of blue

If I could change just one thing it would be our idea of living as a human being

Yes life is hard and bad things happen but it’s no reason to disregard and have positives dampen

Things of the past can be horrific we know, but we shouldn’t cease to live and grow

To be a victim is one thing

But to never let go is blinding

So many people today place all the blame, and choose to sit in its flame

Whether to save their skin, or blame themselves with in, no one ever wins

I would change a tendency to look at life so helplessly

Out of misfortune, be empowered not crying like a coward

Ceasing the cycle

Of feeling suicidal and giving up on survival

Society’s revival

People walking out of self-victimized denial
