Victims

A glint of silver in a darkened alley. A piercing scream echoes. Another Innocent victim. A gun brought to school for show and tell. The bullets ricochet off metal lockers. Blood stains the tile. Two more innocent victims. A man lures the girls into his house. Their bodies are found a week later. Mother's tears fall to the ground. Three more innocent victims. Fathers and daughters on a playground. Gunshots from a car pierce their line of vision. Families torn apart. Four more innocent victims. Innocent victims blood forever inbedded in the earth. When shall our earth be clean? ©2010 Mariah Pawlak
