Vignette- Windows to the Future

Look into my eyes. They are a sharp gray blue. Grey for the intelligence they reflect, and blue for the fight and life in them. These eyes are the windows to the future. And these eyes aren’t just any eyes. They are the eyes of youth. Eyes of pure innocence.

These eyes used to be blissfully ignorant as they looked upon the world. Now they comprehend what they’ve seen. Pain. Suffering. Hate. Abuse. Disaster. Torment. Despair. And for these things they have weeped and sowed every little tear that has fallen for the ones they have lost due to the tragedy.

Pandora knew not what effect she’d have on these eyes. These windows of life. Look into my eyes. See how fierce they are? Determination. Drive. Passion. Fire. They glow with these elements. “Oh no, you got that look again!” Mason would say. The look of trouble. The look of you’re going down. The look of it’s do or die.

Eyes that fight with every fiber of their being. Eyes that strive for greatness and cut daggers in the face of its enemies. Eyes that have no room for rest. Eyes that will burn a never ending never ceasing, fire blazing with passion and intensity. When met with conflict they don’t just overcome, they conquer.

These eyes have seen the world overcome by great evil and oppression. These eyes that would have burned the world to a pile of pathetic ruins. These eyes see a great future. A future full of Justice, a future full of Love. Kindness. Compassion.

These eyes will pave the way for others. These eyes will help defeat the oppressors. These eyes scream revolution. These eyes are stronger than giants, more powerful than the demons it holds, more determined than the knights that ran long ago defending a kingdom unknown. These eyes are stronger than the weight of corruption that tries in vain to hold them down. These eyes are bigger than a lost innocence. A lost youth. A lost moment in time. These eyes have known more. These eyes see more. They create more.

When all seemed lost. There was one thing left in Pandora’s box. Hope. These eyes see Hope. They see a way. They see a place worth saving. Worth loving. Worth helping. They see everything Hope turns into. Joy. Beauty. Honor. Happiness. Family. Community. Love. Future.
