The Village of Dwindling Smiles

Welcome all who dare to come

To our lovely village

We sing! We dance!

We play! We eat!

We are like all the rest

Sadder

But better

Our butterflies are brighter

Our flowers are lovelier

Our fruits are sweeter

But we are sadder

Alas! There was a time -

When everything was rosier

Our butterflies were somber

Our flowers were faded

Our fruits were rotten

But we were happier

Until our smiles dwindled

Into darkness
