Villanelle

Even the stars struggle to shine next to your eyes,

Let your age know no limit, know no fear;

Let the beauty of your mind escape mortal demise.

Young, you can see up and past the skies,

The imagination used is vivid and clear;

Even the stars struggle to shine next to your eyes.

But those of young have yet to see how time flies,

Let not those around you stop and sneer;

Let the beauty of your mind escape mortal demise.

Old, you can see and see through the lies,

The wisdom used is ancient and sheer;

Even the stars struggle to shine next to your eyes.

But those of old have already descended their highs,

Let not death stop and jeer;

Let the beauty of your mind escape mortal demise.

Tolerance of mundane thought should not be a prize,

Take your thoughts and know where to steer;

Even the stars struggle to shine next to your eyes,

Let the beauty of your mind escape mortal demise.
