Violence

Our world is loud with violence
Yet we choose to respond with silence
We see it on the news
The stories of those who had enough and took their lives
The stories of those who murdered many
And the voices of the victims

But because too many are silent
Our efforts get discarded

Causing the world to stay the same
Making us the ones to blame
Us who should bow our head in shame
Our society has tchanged, into a carrier of this disease
This illness I call violence
And for this virus, I will no longer stay silent

I was given a voice, I was given a gift
I will use my voice and this gift to stop this disease
For I have the cure to violence
And the truth is we all do
The only thing greater than violence is love
Love that is still present in a world so set on destroying itself
