a violent neighborhood

i sit by the window and the light are dimming by the second
the ally outside my window seems grim
as the sun sets in peace and the stars shine bright
i can hear the gun shots at night.
i can see the flash of bullets flying from one end to the other
bodies laying there with no signs of lie, blood scatters in the streets
i'm just looking from my window
i've seen the ways your insides can be pulled out graphically
i hear the screams and shouts even in my sleep and i'm not even dreaming
seen a man fall apart with a simple puff of smoke.
i sit by my window and the lights are dim
the ally outside my window seems grim
never ending story where it seems like violence has reached its climax like sex
except there is no satisfaction
instead, you have more broken hearts left in anguish
wrists were cut off because one feels hopeless
that life has nothing to give but more grief
legs are sliced so therefore, nowhere to run
just sits there starring at the world that breeds violence
unfortunately, no one refuses to take a stand
therefore, you are left in silence

I like how when the sun goes down violence erupts. My teacher once told me that the imagery of the sun going down foreshadows something bad about to happen. I like your use of literary devices and how they portray the violent neighborhood you live in. With imagery, I could see and feel the pain that violence causes and how it can tear a beautiful, peaceful soul of a city. Nice poem. Keep writing on my friend.&nbsp;</span></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><span style="background-color: rgb(238, 238, 238); color: rgb(37, 37, 37); font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.200000762939453px;">im reiterating your comment</span></p><p><span style="background-color: rgb(238, 238, 238); color: rgb(37, 37, 37); font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.200000762939453px;">thats the drive behind this poem</span></p><p><span style="background-color: rgb(238, 238, 238); color: rgb(37, 37, 37); font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.200000762939453px;">imagery, violence, nature, it all connects to harsh reality</span></p><p><span style="background-color: rgb(238, 238, 238); color: rgb(37, 37, 37); font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18.200000762939453px;">thank you for comment</span></p>
