Violet

If growth was a color, it’d be violet,

Not because it’s a union

Of red and blue,

Or then and later,

But because it’s a battle between

Blood and bruises

From that day in the rain.

If growth was a color, it’d be violet,

Not because it’s a part

Of the rainbow,

Or of the story you tell so often,

But because it’s the last arc before

The cluster of clouds you saw

From that day in the rain.

If growth was a color, it’d be violet,

Not because you survived or

 Because you found peace.

If growth was a color, it’d be violent

Because you loved him

That day in the rain.
