The Viper

Slithering through the grass,

First coming slow then coming fast,

Feasting upon your hopes with lies,

Look into the viper's eyes.

Bringing death to your door,

Sorrow never felt before,

Emotions stolen by the thief,

Torn apart by the viper's teeth.

Fearing that you might find hope,

And climb right up your downward slope,

Trying to bring you down like rain,

Let the viper ignore its pain.

Feeling scars from its past,

First fear then hope at last,

Hiding itself in the storm,

Try to find the viper's form.

Letting go, the viper dies,

Showing you the truth in its lies,

Burying itself among the graves,

The viper that could not be saved.
