Virgin Droplets

It begins with a pitter-patter

The sound of virgin droplets

Falling towards the earth

It grows and grows

One drop brings another and

Another brings another–harmony in the sky

Drip, drip, drip from the over-flowing gutters

Shivers from the plants outside

Now a down pore–a rush of water

A flood to drown the bad

A rush of wind, a whir of air

The plip-plop resumes. The worst is over.
