Virginity

I lost my virginity; A useless word designed by men. Surely you can have sex and forget it, Surely you can loose your virginity and exist. The girl you see before you, She was different before she lost her virginity. When she grew up, She wanted to become a priest. Yes that dream was futile from the start, Women don't become priests, But it was my goal. I memorised prayers, Performed them with precision. Then that priest performed, God allowed him, My virginity was gone. I'd always dreamed I'd meet my Prince charming, I was a child I guess. But that too changed, Now I dread marriage, After I lost my virginity. Virginity is a word made up by men, To give them pride on their wedding night. But when I lost my virginity, It didn't just stretch my hymen. I lost friends, I lost family, I lost a part of myself. And I don't have a way to take it all back.
