The Vision
Everyone has a purpose in life
And to find it can be strife
When I started high school I thought I knew what to do
However, the reality was I had no clue
I definitely was not on the path to success
The worst part was, I had no clue of my mess
I went on like this into my junior year
When I first felt the click of the gear
I had gained consciousness for the first time…it was strange
I realized that I want to make a change
This was my purpose this was my calling
I planted my feet; I wasn’t going to risk falling
Fulfilling my purpose was an obsession no doubt
This purpose was something I couldn’t live without
Most of the footprints we leave on the coastline
Get washed away by generations that follow and outshine
When I die and it is my time
I want to say I left something significant behind
We all have goals and to some they’re just dreams
But this is a goal that I’m scoring by any means
I may not compose the idea that betters the world
But it is my destiny to help the visionary’s make their pearl
The only way to make this dream real is through school
I realized knowledge is a powerful tool
For that reason I have developed a hunger to learn
At this point in my life that is all that I yearn
My purpose is what helps me wake up
I work at it every day and help the vision buildup
Every night I stay up envisioning restlessly
Of how tomorrow ill be one step closer to fulfilling my destiny
