VISITATION

Visitation.....

Today,

I had a visit from one

of the chosen few,

when lying in a hospital ward

strange and lonely was I,

fearing,

doubting,

about what lay ahead,

with my future unsecured.

I tried praying to the Father,

for help to overcome,

still my thoughts kept flowing:

of doubts,

of dread,

of what was to be,

keep coming into my head.

Lying here in clinical surrounds,

plastic curtains all around,

suddenly

a face appeared,

lovely,

gentle,

calming,

the face of the living God,

which gave this olde sea dog,

a calmness;

like that before a storm.

With a few simple words,

she placed her hand upon my brow,

“God be with you at this time.”

Words spoken

in tenderness and love,

that came from our Father,

in the heavens above.

God’s angels,

inhabit His heavenly realm,

and also in this troubled world

we call home.

His chosen angels

are there for the times;

of trouble,

doubt,

confusion

and fear,

and in gentle folk ,

just like Mary,

they appear.

O Father,

if only one prayer

you may grant this soul,

help me to be one

of the chosen few,

an angel on patrol.
