Vitamin We

Vitamin We

A, B, C, D, E

We strive to thrive off of these

Potential makers of life

And being surrounded by this strife

All I need is vitamin We

Vitamin We can be many things:

What you live for --

Your song to sing

I sing through no voice

I could never sing anyway

I am tone-deaf, but not by choice

I sing through brass, by metal, by keys

I sing through a mouthpiece, my French horn, my vitamin We

The horn makes me joyous

Without it I would ache and turn joyless

The music shoots through my veins

The music turns all my rage and pains

Into bolts of energy and smiles

When I play I could sprint for miles

French horn has never been just a noun

It has been a thought, not just a sound

So I blow and blow through the 30 feet of tubing

On some island surely worth leaving

French horn is not just an instrument

It’s a reason to breathe, to attend college, to make a dent

In my savings so I write 20 scholarships a day

To make sure I can go and pay

For the things I never thought I could do or achieve

I play French horn because it makes me believe

French horn is now never a single object or sound

French horn is the thing that keeps me alive

Makes me want to strive and be renowned

Vitamins do the same as this though, not a noun

My vitamin We will surely save me from high tide

And to drown
