Vivid Memory
A Memory
A smile, a laugh, a tear
as the window showed the dark,
without reflection-
the waiting was the worst.
Years gone by now,
fallen to unrelenting time,
memories failing.
Waiting, afraid it was all in vain.
Hope lost,
fearful it was only a dream.
Falling to the cold,
a life now of black
lost to the night.
A single daisy
brings back the sun, the light
of better times-
living on in vivid
memory.
