vocal runs in the style of jessie reyez

up in the clouds, keeping my distance from this

fearlessness with no stakes, strength without pressure

do i need you, do i need you, do i need you.

i’m conscious of avoiding a question mark there

it’s a statement and a fact before it’s asking

head down, back into the trenches

but i’m stopping the battles, shining floodlights into my walkways

the streets of paris at night, only it’s mostly me and you

hold it at arm’s length til i stop tearing up

but don’t stay up too late tonight, baby.
