A Voice

Poetry gave me a chance to speak. While i was always quiet and shy, I wrote on paper and let it fly. Like a bird chirping i couldn't close my beak, Instead of a cage I chose the sky. I used poems to let my feelings out. Never before had i thought I was free, But poems became my eyes and let me see. And soon the poems lead to me being able to shout. Life was never a bore with poems around. I learned with rhymes, But doing it always feels like I commited many crimes. So I will change it up and show the voice i found. I speak what I think. The only words I say are honest, Of course I care about other peoples feelings So I speak with safety and sincerity in mind. My voice has been heard by many but not nearly enough I wish to be heard. Like a song at a concert, All ears turned towards me, And the voice given through poetry.
