Voice

Poetry, huh? Something I don't think about too often.

However, when the opportunity comes I take it.

I started writing it in elementary school,

And reciting it in high school.

Every word I wrote, I felt.

Every word I spoke, I felt.

The realization of it was that I was in-tuned with my emotions.

The emotions I cry, yell, cheer, and mask

I write on a piece of paper that I recite to myself,

And throw it into a sea of listeners as a paper plane

Because a paper plane can go near or far, as it can go North, South, East, or West.

There are no restrictions for that paper plane as there are no restrictions for emotions.

So, Poetry, huh? Something I don't think too often.

However, when the opportunity comes I take it,

And I use that opportunity as a voice.

Because from now and many years to come,

It will be well needed.
