Voice

Look, hear,

Isn’t clear?

It’s him,

It’s her!

Can I turn away?

She has us,

What a fragile stand.

He has none,

What a lonesome glance.

He hurts.

Choose.

She hurts.

Choose.

I hurt too.

Choose!

Will I allow another crack?

It’s always been one,

To choose only one,

To see one wither down.

My lost voice wishes to talk,

But can I allow it a say

And have the both hurt instead?

Will their cracks keep still?

Will they withstand the drill?

I am afraid to hurt,

But I want a change.
