The Voice

I would die again,

If I only knew what was left

And that amongst the divinity of powerless foe

That I be vanquished beneath the Lords hands,

My passion lies not in the robbery of my soul

But in the boundaries of my swollen heart

Love’s strength binds my soul

My very being into existence,

Mindful of the life I have lived.

Now, and forevermore

I fight for your strong elegance,

Your peaceful beauty

In hopes that one day your eyes

Will see that you were never alone

That through shame’s lustful ignorance

I still remain

A whisper

Your shadow lurking behind you

The voice playing over again in the back of your mind
