the voice of the believers
the voice of the believers sparked hope in me,
that maybe I could seek out his soul.
that I could solve all of his problems, and bandage his wounds,
and spit in the face of his weakness.
their voices kept me going,
and his progress turned my hope to love.
until he chose that road less traveled by,
which turned out to be worse than they told us.
because every addiction spirals out of control,
and the voice of the believers disappears with the wind
