The Voice of Depression

I scream  from the top of my lungs

Begging, pleading, wishing

Hopping and willingly

Looking deep within myself

To find and hold that peace of mind

That little thing the insures that my sanity is real

And being free is more than a four letter word,

More than just a dream

But something that you can feel from the inside out

I scream but not sure if my voice is being heard

Or who am I really screaming to

Then she looks but pretends not to hear me

My voice screamed out for her

Her voice screamed out for her

We caught her attention but she turned away

She ignored me, she ignored the pain

She ignored herself

Hearing her own screams and running the opposite direction

Feeling that her pain was a too overwhelming and a major distraction

Forcing herself to move forward with open wounds

Forcing me to suffer

Refusing to clean, refusing to heal, or cover the scars

That only the screaming person inside her can fully understand

She walks head high, showing no scars, or pain….

On the outside

Crying behind close door, hiding depression

From infected wounds that continue to cause damage to the soul
