Voice of a Muse

It dances on the air

and reaches my ears,

Gently flows through my mind

down into my tired heart.

The melody, it seems, warms

its weary surroundings with hope.

It bubbles up again,

Through my lungs it travels

Turning to sound.

A release of joy,

of pain,

of inspiration.

A path to a new day

set out before me in song.

With new motivation to continue my journey

Its words heal me,

harmonies draw me close,

and meaning renews my purpose.

With this music,

I move forward.
