Voice : A Piece of Me

“What is poetry but a medium?”

A system of words scratched along a picture

A faint image draw onto a blank cavis.

A series of words shifted through a stream of communication.

Its ability to be used is its significance.

Manipulated and transformed.

A message.

Received and transversed.

Distinct and vaguely explicit.

Yet, Unmistakingly familiar.

Breaking barriers.

Building bridges.

Where terrain is too steep to travel.

A shining voice in a sea of black.

For me poetry is that voice.

A form of self expression.

A place familiar to only myself,

Specifically for me.

To embrace my consciousness :

A sanctuary of my own design.

A piece of myself:

Not subject to judgment or denial,

But a recreation of my very being.
