A Voice to the Voiceless
My voice found me
Slowly growing in me more and more
It found me in front of the TV
Struggling to hear
A Stangled Voice on the Sidewalks of Staten Island
A Muffled Voice in a Georgia Gym Mat
A Voice crying out for help from the transport van in West Baltimore
Voices Silenced
My voice must not be silenced yet
I must speak for those whose voice was taken from them
Voices among thousands
Voices that feared capital punishment since they could learn to run from those deemed to protect them
Voices that are deemed unworthy at the expense of feelings
I must give a voice to the voiceless
My voice found me in poetry
My voice must not be silenced yet
Giving voice to collective struggle in a way that may be heard yet
