Voices

I speak for those who feel they cannot

For those whose voices go unheard

For those that never said a word

For those who feel like they don’t matter

For voices that you can’t pick out

And people who put on their masks

For those who can no longer heal

And those I feel never thought they could

Voices in my head they tell all these things

Voices around the world feel the same

Voices I never thought to listen

Or pay another mind to

Now become who I am

And who I never feel like I could be

Voices whispering in my ears

A soft melody for me to sleep

Voices, thousands, of unheard voices

this is my first attempt at slam poetry, is it okay?
