James 4:8-9 New English Translation (NET Bible)

8 Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and make your hearts pure, you double-minded. 9 Grieve, mourn and weep. Turn your laughter into mourning and your joy into despair.

 Cry out

Oh! The sound of helplessness in the human voice

Ringing through the house – always it seems

Surely in my mind, it occupies the choice

That was long ago in a parade of dreams

Bouncing off the walls affects all of us

Cramps of human suffering since The Fall

Gasps of the frustration of a mental losing fuss

Dressed up rather nicely when too often called

Screams of desperation or a mind slowly dying

A heart in despair involves a losing battle

All seem to rattle on as in simple justifying

The pot appears just the same as the kettle

Has joy departed and found a new home?

Is it possibly the introvert in the vastness of opportunity?

Is it not our busyness when we’re caught all alone?

With thoughts’ lightning speed embraces as an absurdity

Are not common goals set aside for the masses?

Is not this parade the imagination of a few?

Is it, not that humanity has appointed classes?

And that the lowest among us always pay our dues
