The Voices.
Empty bottles scattered on the floor
closed windows and a locked door.
No body standing to my side
the person that mattered the most died.
There they are, the voices
the voices,
the voices.
Darkness envelopes the entire space
a broken heart stabbed in every place.
Starring at all the lies
hidden behind my fading eyes.
Louder they come the voices,
the voices,
the voices.
As I absconded down the hall, lights flicker
the blood running down my wrists becomes thicker.
An apparatus of my father caught in the corner of my eye
I never got the chance to say goodbye.
Again I hear the voices,
the voices,
the voices.
Staring at the bathroom mirror,
the message could have never been clearer.
I don't recognize my own reflection
a misguided soul with no direction.
the voices get louder,
louder,
and louder.
I see my father standing by my side,
and I whisper to him "dad, I tried".
tears stream down my face,
my heartbeat all out of pace.
The voices get louder,
louder,
and louder.
He looks to me and says "this is no surprise"
as he watches my final demise.
The mirror shatters
and at that point nothing matters.
I hear the voices,
the voices,
the voices.
I whimper back to my room
with sardonic laughter because I'm putting an end to the voices soon.
An image of my father dying repeats,
all the life in me depletes.
The voices get louder,
louder,
and louder.
I pierce my ears with broken glass
thinking I have some peace at last.
The voices cynically laugh and say "we're still here"
I can't continue to live with all this fear.
Breath, inhale
exhale,
inhale.
I pick up the gun and place it to my temple,
maybe the solution was always this simple.
I feel the warmth of my blood, basking in my pain
listening to the thunder, drowning in the rain.
count, three,
two,
one.
Everybody dies in the end
death is my only friend.
I tell myself this is for the best,
and with one move, I put all my pain to rest.
